As part of our continued investment in data science and AI, we’re looking for an Associate Data Scientist to join our Group team and help drive meaningful, data‑led change across the business.
The Role
This is a global role with exposure across markets and functions. As an Associate Data Scientist, you’ll support the development and delivery of data science initiatives that improve efficiency, enable smarter decision‑making, and strengthen our client offer.
Working closely with senior team members, you’ll help build tools, automate processes, contribute to client analytics, and play an active role in promoting our data science and AI capabilities both internally and externally.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting data initiatives that drive key business and client outcomes
- Contributing to the execution of our Group data strategy
- Building, maintaining and improving internal data science tools, pipelines and AI‑powered applications
- Performing quantitative data analysis for client projects
- Identifying and implementing automation opportunities across the business
- Supporting the rollout and adoption of new tools across teams
- Contributing to thought leadership, including LinkedIn posts, conference abstracts and presentations
- Helping improve data literacy and upskill colleagues across the organisation
- Providing regular updates and reporting to your line manager
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related numerate discipline
- A strong interest in using data science to drive real business impact
- Experience designing, building and communicating technical or machine learning solutions (industry or academic experience welcomed)
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, p‑values and regression
- Confidence writing clean, maintainable code in Python or R
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills and technologies
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to non‑technical audiences
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and personal integrity
Nice to Have
- Experience building modern data pipelines, including API integrations
- Exposure to deploying internal, web‑based data tools
- Experience using Git or other version control systems
- Exposure to AI or LLM‑based applications (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic APIs)
- Experience working with SQL databases
